From bursting berries and plump peaches, to summer squash and fresh flowers, there is plenty of fresh produce ripe for the picking here in Dutchess County! This 270-acre farm has been in the Morgenthau family for over 100 years. Their homegrown organic vegetables and eco-certified fruit can be found year-round at the farm store and through their seasonal pick-your-own operation. The summer months feature organic strawberries, blueberries, tart cherries, peaches, apricots, raspberries, currants, summer squash and herbs (check their website for the full schedule.) In addition, the late season brings nectarines, tomatoes, eggplant, blackberries, peppers, apples and pears. Flowers range from rudbeckia and sunflowers to zinnia, marigolds and yarrow. In addition, Fishkill Farms is the home of Treasury Cider. Head to their tasting room for orchard-fresh sips, outdoor yoga, live music and more. A third-generation family farm, Greig Farm welcomes the public to venture onto their farm, pick-your-own, and take in views of the Catskill Mountains and beautiful surrounding landscape. Plan your visit to pick fresh asparagus in May, bright red strawberries in June, the most delicious blueberries from July through mid-August and blackberries beginning in early August. Make it a full-day affair by staying to visit the adorable pygmy goats, walk the farm trails, eat at the market, and explore the craft market!
There’s nothing more photo friendly than a trip to a vibrant sunflower field! Starting July 26 through September 1, this Pleasant Valley farm comes alive with sunflowers. Stock up on delicious products from Hudson Valley Cold Pressed Oils, ranging from gluten-free sunflower brownie mix and truffle-infused sunflower oil to scrubs and skincare sun sticks. And, pick your own beautiful sunflowers for $3.50 each or a buckets worth for $35. Live music and food & beverages for purchase on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and other special events. Enjoy summertime at this 100-year-old orchard in Northern Dutchess. A variety of produce is available for u-pick at Mead Orchards, with strawberries in early June giving way to beautiful blueberries in July. Plus, their selection of cerries are beyond delicious in the summertime. Come picnic as a family on the farm, and don't worry about leaving the pup at home, leashed dogs are welcome.
A historic family-owned pick-your-own fruit orchard, Rose Hill Farm sits on 114-acres of picturesque farmland. This farm embraces holistic growing practices that focus on plant and soil health, resulting in extremely high-quality produce. Plan your visit to pick several types of strawberries and cherries from early June to early July, followed by apricots, blueberries, peaches and plums in July and August.
