About
Ready to spend a weekend discovering immersive arts experiences? Plan your trip to Dutchess County during Upstate Art Weekend (July 18-21), an annual celebration featuring over 140 destinations and artists from across the Hudson Valley.
Explore the dozens of unique galleries, installations and museums here. World-famous destinations like Dia Beacon and distinctly Dutchess art experiences like Wassaic Project and T Space are just a short drive away from each other. Of course, the county’s central location makes it the perfect home base for jaunts in the Catskills and along the Hudson. For a preview of the event in the New York Times, click here.
Speaking of world-famous art centers, don’t miss the special exhibits at Dia Beacon. This modern art museum—built in a former Nabisco box printing factory—features multi-media installations ranging from the bright neon lights of Dan Flavin to the striking sculptures of Louise Bourgeois.
The Wassaic Project debuts one-of-a-kind displays inside a 1940s mill, while T Space in Rhinebeck showcases paintings, poetry, architecture and more, just to name a few of the destinations participating. Plus, engage with artists in their creative spaces during open studio hours, 12-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
